Synopsis
In a world griped by war a young boy tries to find his way to true path, plagued by a curse that would change his destiny to suit its own purposes. Will he defeat the curse or will it rule him?
Hopes dirge is an epic tale, set in a time of chaos where a tyrant king tries to conquer all that he sees. Valiant, the main character, driven from his old life by the tyrant king has turned to petty theft to survive.
Valiant encounters a cursed sword in one of his forays that forever changes his life, the sword brings him power and knowledge, but at what price?
Characters
Valiant
The main character Valiant is a young farmers boy. He ran away from home to seek fame and fortune when the Tyrant King blocked a river that fed Valiants' farm, therefore destroying their families livelihood. When he encountered hard times he fell in with a gang of petty thieves to survive.
Valiant is naive but with a strong will to survive. The story mainly revolves about Valiants character development.
Lex
The supporting character Lex is a young orphan. She sees Valiant on his gaes and decides that he is a knight and she will be his page, no matter what Valiant thinks of the matter. Lex sees Valiant as an escape from her fate, dying in a hole with no one to remember her name cold and alone, and as such almost never leaves his side. As a minor undercurrent Lex is the love interest, though this is rarely overtly shown.
Lex is a query character with a strong view of how the world should be and acts accordingly. She is stubborn and forceful, when she makes her mind up no force on heaven or earth can change it.
Boss
The minor character Boss is a Thug. He leads Valiants gang at the start of the movie and moves into a resistance leader against the Tyrant King later in the story. Boss tends to solve his problems with a well placed club but is not your typical brute, he is careful and always plans ahead.
Victor
The minor character Victor is another gang boss which joins Boss in the resistance. Where Boss is a thug Victor is more of an intellectual and prefers to solve things without anyone knowing the wiser. Boss and Victor have had dealings in the past shrouded in a pinch of mystery.
