Kathryn is a princess. Far from being a shy demure princess that fairy tails suggest is the norm, she is stubborn and resourceful and full of surprises. Being the air to her father's throne has given her a strong, some would say overbearing, personality and made her as brave as a lion, apart from one small thing, asteroid fields.

When she was younger her and her friends decided it would be a lark to steal a space ship and go joy riding around the solar system. They visited a local asteroid filed where each egging the others on they had entered. That was a mistake. One of her friends died and everyone was badly injured when a rouge asteroid careened of their ship.

Kathryn and her younger sister were off to see a specialist tutor on economics and statecraft when they were set upon by Gyth and his men. When the Lupus "saved" them by driving Gyth's men off she was introduced to Rupert and our story begins.
