"You know the captain's gona make me clean that up"
Samson was a one of those truly brilliant people that come around so rarely. He finished a doctorate in both engineering and medicine by the time he was 18. Whenever asked about his often seen as wildly different fields of learning he would simply say "I like to fix things" and was so dubbed 'Mr Fixit' by those who know him.
He was recruited into the military, by being offered ludicrous amounts of money. He soon grew board with the humdrum of being the head engineer in a factory that made the militaries more complex machinery and requested to be put on active duty 'in the front line where he was needed most'. After much trying to change his mind to no avail and reiterating that front line work was MUCH LESS pay they placed him with the company with the lowest mortality rate in the army, the 'Ultra Violets', in the hopes that when he was board of the front line and low pay he would return to where it was safer.
The years flew by and he never did get board of the front lines and refused a safer post whenever it was offered to him. The big wigs in the military soon forgot him and moved on to their next prodigy and he moved into anonymity until 'The Incident'. Not much is known about 'The Incident' outside the highest levels of the military, his trail was classified as top secret and the only information released to the public was him and his captain Violet had been dishonourably discharged and imprisoned for 5 years in military jail for disobeying a direct order resulting in the loss of lives.
'The Incident' had a serious psychological effect on Samson, which was described as 'post traumatic stress syndrome' by the military doctors. In the early days after the trial the military scheduled a press conference where Violet would answer questions for the media. The first of those questions was "Your colleagues condition is being described as post traumatic stress syndrome what are your comments on that?", to which she replied with a derisive snort and "I guess you could call it that". The press conference was immediately shut down and Violet had no further contact with the outside world until her release.
